Tell us about yourself

I am married and have grown children. I enjoy horseback riding. I dislike cooking but love to eat.

Q

Why did you choose your specialty/job role?

A

I enjoy working with women, and focusing on problems related to reproduction.

Q

What’s the most interesting/memorable case you’ve been involved in for the EMO service?

A

A patient with previously very inappropriate counseling and treatment related to in vitro fertilization.

Q

What do you most enjoy about working for Teladoc Health?

A

It is interesting to see how the practice in our specialty varies around the world.

Q

How do you think patients can benefit from the SMO service?

A

It is often helpful to get a second opinion either if current treatment is not going well, or communications with local physicians are unclear. In some parts of the world physicians do not explain the reasons why they are recommending a particular course of treatment. In my view a patient should have a complete understanding of her condition, and why a particular evaluation and treatment plan is recommended.

Q

What is the professional achievement you’re most proud of?

A

The number of fellows that I have trained and mentored that have now become experts in our field.

Q

Are you involved in any other organisations or charity work?

A

Yes, the American Society for Reproductive Medicine. I am currently the vice president.
