“When I developed an insect bite that I thought had become infected, it was outside of my GP surgery’s opening hours, so I decided to use the 24/7 Virtual GP service available through my workplace benefits.

Accessing the service was straightforward. I uploaded photographs of the affected area and arranged a consultation.

The GP was professional, understanding and easy to talk to. We had a clear discussion about my symptoms and medical history, and I quickly received advice and treatment. During the consultation, I was prescribed medication to help treat the infection, which gave me peace of mind without having to wait until the next day to contact my own GP.

One aspect I particularly appreciated was the digital prescription process. After the consultation, I received my prescription by text message and was given options for collection or delivery. Although I initially selected delivery and later realised that collection would be faster due to the time of day, the support team quickly helped resolve this and ensured I received a collection prescription instead.

Overall, I found the service efficient, professional and reassuring. Everyone involved took ownership of the issue and helped make sure I received the treatment I needed.
