Why did you choose your specialty/job role?
Interest.
What’s the most interesting/memorable case you’ve been involved in for the Second Medical Opinion (SMO) service?
Nothing comes to mind. The thyroid cancer cases can be interesting and challenging, but I work at a tertiary referral center and the cases are similar.
What do you most enjoy about working for Teladoc Health?
I enjoy explaining issues in hopefully layman’s terms so that the patients understand their disease and treatment.
How do you think patients can benefit from the Second Medical Opinion (SMO) service?
I rarely change a diagnosis, I am usually clarifying a diagnosis, or providing medical updates.
What is the professional achievement you’re most proud of?
My work at UpToDate. UpToDate is an online source of information for physicians. When you write a chapter in a textbook, maybe 400 people read it. My articles in UpToDate get over 1 million hits a year.

Just the publications noted above in my biography.
