David kindly shares his experience of using our Second Medical Opinion Service...
” I had some blood tests done and was seeing my GP. However, the process was slow, and I wasn’t getting anywhere and didn’t feel very good. Then I discovered I had access to the Second Medical Opinion service through my employer – so I decided to try it.
Using the Service
The entire process was surprisingly smooth. Upon signing up, I was assigned a GP case manager who was very friendly and approachable. I provided them with a brief overview of my medical situation, and they guided me through accessing my medical records and scans. The instructions were clear, and they provided links to help facilitate the process.
Some of the required documents, including scans and results from my GP and an ultrasound, were delayed a bit, but after about five or six weeks, I had everything I needed. I uploaded these documents to Teladoc Health’s system, and within roughly three weeks, I received a very detailed report from the service. The response from Teladoc Health was much quicker than anything I experienced with my GP.
What If I Didn’t Have This Service?
Had I not had access to this service through my employer, I would have likely faced long wait times with the NHS. I probably would have been referred to a specialist, only to receive the same information as I did from Teladoc Health. My report suggested that I undergo additional scans, but I’ve had difficulty getting these arranged through my GP.
My NHS specialist has received the report, but I’ll have to wait two to three months for feedback. Fortunately, my health condition isn’t serious, so there’s no immediate urgency, but even so, the speed and clarity of the Teladoc Health service were very reassuring. I’m grateful for the answers I’ve received so far.
Would I Recommend the Service?
I have already spoken to some colleagues about the service and explained its benefits. They weren’t aware of it but seemed interested. While they’re in good health right now, I imagine they would appreciate access to this service if needed. Teladoc Health’s Second Medical Opinion service has already provided me with great information and guidance, which has been incredibly helpful. Having some answers, even if preliminary, has been a relief.
Overall, I highly recommend Teladoc Health’s Second Medical Opinion service. It’s given me quicker responses, and the assurance that I’m on the right track with my health, all of which I wouldn’t have had without this option through my employer’s policy.”
