"Teladoc Health’s GP service is the best thing ever!"

Fiona Mercer explains how she contacted the the service for help during a difficult time

“I was going through a separation from my husband. I was feeling really overwhelmed with work and everything and struggling. So, my manager (who is amazing) mentioned that we had access to Teladoc Health through our employee benefits. I filled out the form online and immediately got a message asking me to pick a time for an appointment. It was so quick!

I spoke to the Teladoc Health GP, and he was absolutely lovely. He made me feel so at ease, and I didn’t have to rush. When you go to your normal doctor, you can only get a 10-minute appointment. This doctor listened to everything. I was going through a bit of depression because of the separation from my husband. I was also having some worrying issues with my son, who was having seizures. The doctor referred me for counselling with a Teladoc Health counsellor, and then he referred me to a maxillofacial consultant because I was grinding my teeth a lot due to stress. I came away from that phone call with a huge relief, like a weight off my shoulder, and told my family I would always use Teladoc Health from now on!

I’m back to work now, and I’ve had counselling, so I feel great. I know that if I do need to ring up again and speak to one of the Teladoc Health doctors, I’m not going to feel anxious or like I’m sort of getting in the way or being a bit of a pain because I know that they’ll listen to whatever I need to say.

If I hadn’t used Teladoc Health, I don’t think I’d have gone to my doctor because it’s so hard to get an appointment anyway. I would have just left it, and I don’t think I’d feel as good as I do now because I’ve had the help I need. So, I think I’d have probably been a mess. I’d have just struggled. Teladoc Health is quick, which I like because when you’re feeling down and low, you don’t want to wait around; you don’t want to struggle to get an appointment.”

Teladoc Health is the best thing ever. I wish I’d known about it a long time ago. The service helps many people get help where needed and makes them feel much better.
