James kindly shares his story...
James was experiencing progressive hearing loss and had previously undergone surgery to restore hearing. Unfortunately, the surgery was unsuccessful, and the James’s symptoms continued to worsen. Frustrated and seeking further answers, James turned to Teladoc Health’s Second Medical Opinion (EMO) service for advice.
Initial Consultation:
Through Teladoc Health UK, James was connected with a general practitioner case manager who scheduled a remote consultation at a convenient time. “The GP listened to me for over an hour,” James shared, highlighting the supportive and attentive nature of the consultation. Following the initial assessment, the GP’s findings were escalated to a specialist for further evaluation. One week later, James received a detailed diagnostic report containing personalised medical recommendations. One key recommendation was to undergo an MRI scan, which ultimately led to a breakthrough in James’s case: the discovery of a rare genetic disorder that had been contributing to progressive hearing loss.
