Mark shares his experience of the Virtual GP Service.
Mark kindly shares his experience of using our virtual GP service, just how impactful this kind of support can be, not only in addressing physical symptoms but also in easing the mental strain that often accompanies health worries.
“I first heard about the Teladoc Health UK Virtual GP service through my workplace, as it’s one of the benefits we’re kept regularly updated on. I don’t get ill very often, but when I do, trying to see a GP can be incredibly difficult—appointments are hard to get, and you can spend days calling back with no luck.
The experience was fantastic. I’d never logged in before, but once I got set up, I was stunned to see I could have an appointment within the hour. I even pushed it back because I wasn’t ready! Compared to a typical GP appointment—where you’re limited to ten minutes and only one concern—this was completely different.
The doctor called me exactly on time and was incredibly relaxed and reassuring. It felt like a genuine conversation rather than a rushed consultation. She really listened, asked thoughtful questions, and put me at ease. I’d been worrying that something might be seriously wrong, but she calmly explained that it didn’t sound like anything alarming. I hung up feeling so much more relaxed and cared for.
Honestly, I would never have had that level of reassurance through my usual GP, and I would have waited much longer to be seen. The Virtual GP saved me a lot of stress—and money. Without it, I probably would have either paid out of pocket or just waited, worrying and hoping things would improve on their own.
I’ve recommended the service to my colleagues, family, and told them how quick and easy it was to get a same-day appointment. Sometimes you’re unsure if you qualify or worry you’ll be a nuisance, but after using it once, I’d happily use it anytime. It really is that simple and supportive.
Experiences like this demonstrate how valuable accessible healthcare options can be, particularly when they remove the usual barriers that discourage people from seeking help early. Being able to speak to a qualified GP quickly not only addresses immediate symptoms but can also prevent unnecessary escalation of anxiety or illness. In many cases, reassurance is as important as treatment, and having the time and space to discuss concerns openly makes a significant difference. The flexibility of virtual appointments also means that people can prioritise their health without sacrificing work commitments or personal responsibilities.
For employers, offering services such as Virtual GP reflects a broader commitment to employee wellbeing. It empowers staff to take proactive steps toward managing their health and encourages earlier intervention when issues arise. For individuals, it provides peace of mind—knowing that professional advice is only a few clicks away.
Ultimately, what stood out most to me was not just the speed of access but the quality of care and reassurance I received. That combination of convenience and compassion is rare, and it has completely changed how I think about seeking medical advice in the future. Services like this don’t just save time—they genuinely improve the overall healthcare experience.”
