How can Teladoc Health positively impact people’s lives in a time when the demand for mental health services continues to increase? We spoke with Dr. Colin Preece, our Head of Mental Health, to gain further insights.
A: We take pride in maintaining exceptional quality, as demonstrated by our industry-leading Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 70. Our commitment to delivering personalised and evidence-based support allows us to meet the needs of our patients effectively. We recruit exceptional clinicians then train and support them, allowing them to work to the highest standards. We are constantly striving for excellence in all that we do.
A: Our approach is holistic and grounded in the belief that everyone deserves prompt, personalised care. We place the patient at the centre of all we do, offering individually tailored care. We offer a comprehensive range of mental health services, from a 24/7 helpline to an emotional wellbeing app and structured counselling, ensuring we address the whole spectrum of mental health challenges.
A: We understand that families often face distinct challenges. A struggling child can impact the whole family. Our services are designed to support parents seeking guidance for their children’s mental wellbeing, enabling families to overcome obstacles with expert guidance, empathy and support. Parents can discuss concerns they may have about their child with a specialist, gain understanding, reassurance and identify support pathways. In some circumstances it may be beneficial for the child to speak to one of our specialists. Early support and guidance can have a positive impact, giving reassurance, support and advice when it is needed.
A: The evidence-based stepped care model is central to our services. It ensures that every patient receives the appropriate level of care at the right time, whether they need immediate help or a structured counselling plan. This model allows us to effectively respond to varying levels of need. Everyone is treated as an individual which enables us to give support appropriate to them at that time.
A: We go beyond traditional EAPs by offering additional services, including 24/7 access to virtual General Practitioners (GPs). This seamless integration allows us to provide a modern solution that supports both mental health and overall wellbeing. By supporting the whole person, we achieve outstanding results and help people live their best possible lives.
A: Our priority is to maintain high-quality care regardless of demand. Our high NPS reflects the trust our patients have in us to deliver consistent, compassionate, and effective services. As we expand, we remain devoted to innovative, patient-centred care that empowers individuals and families. Clinical quality is a foundation of our service delivery, and this is reinforced with the highest standards of patient confidentiality and care.
A: We are at the forefront of reimagining mental health services by merging accessibility, innovation, and a commitment to excellence. Our goal for 2025 is to continue to dismantle barriers to care and ensure that mental health support is accessible to everyone who needs it. During 2025 we aim to launch some bespoke products working with our clinical colleagues across the company.
We have some exciting educational webinars scheduled and will continue to encourage people to reach out for support when they need it. To achieve this aim the team will be writing blog articles, recording video podcasts and seeking opportunities to spread the message, of the importance of mental health. 2025 will be an exciting year and we are positioned to maximise our expertise in the mental health field.
