
I had started to feel stressed, a combination of work and personal issues combining to make daily life harder. I had use of Teladoc Health’s virtual services via my employer as a staff benefit so I downloaded the app and found it easy to book an appointment online with a professional therapist.
It really helped to talk to someone not known or involved with my situation. The therapist I was connected to was approachable and quite direct in her style, which I needed to hear. She followed up our sessions with various techniques and resources to help support me as well as having access to a wellbeing app.
Talking about my mental health was a good starting point and helped lessen some of the intensity of my feelings. I hadn’t taken time off work but might have needed to as a circuit breaker if I hadn’t reached out. As it was, I was open with my senior managers and felt able to cope and continue in my role one day at a time.
Using this service has impacted me – getting seen quickly and being able to read reviews of my therapist beforehand made me want to work with her. Therapy is a deeply personal thing but if anyone is struggling with their feelings and needs an outlet, I would recommend it.
