"Virtual GP: “It’s effortless to address health concerns”"

Oliver Saunders shares his story

I had a benign tumor in my neck and underwent surgery, but I faced several complications. I struggled to get answers from the NHS, which led to a sense of panic. I was sure that I had an infection, so I went to A&E. The doctor told me that it was inflamed but not an infection.

I felt lost and overwhelmed, unsure whether to risk serious health issues or to ask for assistance.

I decided to give Teladoc Health a shot. I filled out all the necessary information in the app, including my medical history and details about my visit to A&E. Within minutes, a nurse called me, demonstrating a solid understanding of my situation based on the information I provided. She confirmed a few details and arranged for a doctor to speak with me. My employer gave me access to Teladoc Health four months ago.

The Teladoc Health doctor called within ten minutes and listened to my concerns. She advised me to contact the ENT department, which performed my surgery, instead of returning to A&E, which was a bit challenging, but I managed. After contacting them, they suggested I visit a different A&E to examine my neck further.

At the new A&E, they confirmed that I had a severe infection and needed to be placed on an IV for antibiotics. They mentioned that even if my blood tests showed no infection, they would conduct a biopsy, as it appeared abnormal. Consequently, I had to take another week off work, so I contacted Teladoc Health again. The same GP I had spoken to before called me back. She was compassionate and understanding and promptly sent me a sick note for my employer, making the process incredibly easy.

Previously, I would have hesitated to visit a GP, choosing to wait things out, but my experience with Teladoc Health has changed that. Now, it’s effortless to address health concerns before they escalate.

I want everyone to know how excellent this service is: user-friendly, dependable, caring, and professional.
