
“I’m a scaffolder, and the company I work for offered access to mental health support through Teladoc Health. At the time, everything was starting to weigh me down a bit. You know how it is—work, life, things piling up. It wasn’t one big thing, more like many little things building up. I just thought, I need to reach out to someone as soon as possible. I didn’t want to let it get worse.
I thought it would be a long process—maybe waitlists or loads of paperwork—but it was really easy. I was surprised how quickly I could get in touch and speak to someone. I ended up speaking with a lady named Samantha. She was fantastic. Just having someone to talk to without any judgment made a massive difference.
She taught me a lot—coping mechanisms, new ways of looking at my emotions, and she gave me some helpful links and contacts in case I wanted more support. I came away from it feeling more in control, more grounded. It was a really positive outcome. If I hadn’t had access to this service… I probably would’ve just kept letting it pile up until I exploded. I don’t think I would’ve reached out to anyone else.
At my old job, I remember there was a time when things got too much and I took a day off. I didn’t do anything, just stayed at home, sat on the sofa all day, not really sure what to do with myself. And then it would all just start building up again. I reckon without this help, I would’ve ended up in that same cycle—getting overwhelmed, taking time off, trying to cope on my own, and never really talking about it.
If you’re struggling—even just a little bit—I’d say reach out. The help is there, and it makes a real difference. I know it’s not easy for everyone, and people deal with things in their way, but if you’re in that place where things feel heavy… Teladoc Health is the way to go. I’ve recommended the service to my mum, brother, partner, and even my partner’s mum and brother. If it helped me this much, I figured it could help someone else, too.
I didn’t think I’d be someone who needed to use a mental health service. But I’m glad I used it. It made a difference when I needed it. Don’t wait until you’re at breaking point. The support is there for a reason!”
